MARITIMES SCANNING SITE
FAQ #5
Question:
“I sent you some updates back a while and they still aren’t up on the
site” OR “Why isn’t the Maritimes Scanning Site kept
more up to date?”
Answer:
I think this is the dilemma that comes with all hobby websites. A hobby or casual webmaster does what he or
she does as a labour of love or enjoyment, and often it must be juggled with
all the other things going on in life.
I certainly have other things happening. In addition I have a problem that perhaps
you do not have. I find that my
interests go up and down and there is a tendency for me to start things but not
finish them. If you were to check out
some of my auxiliary pages on radio history you will find that some of them
started long ago are obviously not finished!
There are also a few more central types of pages that I should haved finished or overhauled long ago but haven’t. All I can do is apologize and hope you keep
coming back. I realize also that some
of my pages are rather idiosyncratic, but I also hope that there are at least one or two of you out there find even the ones
off the beaten path to be interesting.
Oh, and if you are someone who sent me something and I didn’t post it
yet, please remind me.
I will appreciate you doing so!
The other
problem that I run into quite often is technical. For some reason a new or revised page will
not load to the site. I am not an
expert and must do it by trial and error when there is a problem.
I have
maintained the Maritimes Scanning Site since approximately 2000 and I keep
going on the certain knowledge that there are people out there accessing it and
finding it useful or interesting, despite the availability of other great sites
near and far.
