 GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENTS

Guysborough County is made up of two separate rural municipalities (St. Mary's District Municipality and Guysborough District Municipality) and as well the separate towns of Canso and Mulgrave.

These areas all appear to use the IMRS for all or most of their paging and operations.

1. St. Mary's District Municipality

Stations in St. Mary's Municipality were at the time this page was written, relatively rudimentary in terms of paging and radio use.   Most used the provincially provided IMRS 151.535 MHz repeater at Cochrane Hill, near Sherbrooke and did not have their own working channels.   The Ecum Secum VFD similarly used the Marinette IMRS repeater on 151.925 MHz.  Most likely these departments are also able to use the Lundy IMRS repeater on 151.745 MHz located near the east edge of the map above and it would appear that Port Bickerton might be the most likely department to use it.

            2. Guysborough District Municipality and Towns of Canso and Mulgrave

Most of this area relies heavily on the IMRS repeater at Lundy on 151.745 MHz. 
 Mulgrave is "around the corner" and therefore uses another site, this being the Oban site on 151.925 MHz.

Several of these departments do not appear at all in TAFL, even for 153.83 Mutual Aid or for the IMRS input frequency, therefore there is either a mistake in TAFL or they do not use any licenced radios!

 Most departments are dispatched by Canso Dispatch, and apparently on the IMRS.  There do not appear to be any of the 153.92 Canso Dispatch dedicated transmitters in this area.  Currently the dispatch service is unknown for Islandview, Harbourview, Seashore, Seven Communities and the two towns.

At present it is not known which communities are included in the Seashore or Seven Communities departments.
