2008 Note: The province of New Brunswick is about to overhaul its provincial radio system. In March 2008 the exact nature of the new system was still unknown, with speculation favouring a trunked backbone with add-on connections to some of the existing conventional systems. The core system might be on 700 MHz, currently being promoted by Industry Canada, or on VHF. Current thinking is that it will not be on 800 MHz or an enlargement of the Nova Scotia system, which is itself scheduled for review and possible replacement. For discussion of the new system you are advised to go to Nick's ScanMaritimes forum site, accessible through my opening page. Also, in general, I have been unable to maintain a credible list of fire department frequencies, and may be out of date in other pages as well. Please continue to send updates to me at marscan1@canada.com Thanks.
