THIS PAGE AND THE INDIVIDUAL LIST PAGES LINKED FROM IT ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND ARE EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY, 2009
This page and the frequency lists for the PSAP areas of New Brunswick result from the observations of several contributors over the years. As I myself do not live in New Brunswick I can claim no credit for anytning other than putting it together and posting it all. In the lists, blanks may indicated information not yet known. Please send any corrections and additions to marscan1@canada.com or post at ScanMaritimes.
Mutual aid: The mutual aid frequency is not standardized in New Brunswick however in some areas it is 151.385 and because many departments would have this it is not listed. It is known that the Acadian Peninsula area has its own mutual aid frequency (162.825). Many departments in the southern part of the province also have access to 155.67, the RCMP's major simplex frequency (RCMP Tac 1 - technically it is not actually Tac 1, as Tac 1 has a CTCSS tone, but rather a different dial position in RCMP radios that omits the tone). In addition fire department stations and some vehicles have access to EMO 400 MHz frequencies, listed elsewhere on this site.
Some fire departments in New Brunswick are paged out on 149.77 (a province wide alphanumeric frequency), and these pages can be received throughout the province.
New Brunswick is divided into zones that are each the jurisdiction of one of six PSAP centres, i.e. 911 call reception centres. With the exception of the Miramichi zone, these PSAP's do not in themselves dispatch fire departments but rather contact the particular dispatch organization for the appropriate department, who do the actual callouts. Some departments also have the role of medical first responders and routinely attend motor vehicle collisions and similar incidents.
