This system was a component of the NS Integrated Mobile Radio System, which has largely been replaced by the 800 MHz NS Trunked Mobile Radio System. While it is thought that some repeaters from this system still exist, it is to all intents no longer a network. Very little is known today of the past status of this network however it does seem clear that it consisted of only one repeater pair, as indicated in the chart. It is speculated that even at its height this network did not utilize many of the sites of the NSIMRS but rather was only present in areas where municipal police forces existed. It is known that at the turn of the century and millennium that repeaters were operational at the sites shown on the chart, but it is interesting to note that the Shubie repeater is not in an area served by any local police service. It is within the realm of possibility that this repeater was actually at Nuttby however the signal was much stronger at Shubenacadie than at Truro.
While dial-up codes are not listed or known, it might be expected that users could in fact link around the province, as in the other NSIMRS networks.
It might be expected, based on the proximity of local police forces, that repeaters would have also been in operation at Sherwood (for Bridgewater, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay PD's), at Sugarloaf (for Amherst and Springhill), for Nuttby Mtn (for Truro), and at Rear Boisdale or other area sites (for the various Sydney area departments), and possibly also North Range Corner (for Annapolis Royal PD). No information has been seen to indicate that these actually existed. Those that are listed were actually heard on air in the late 90's or are still in operation today.
Note also that in at least the Annapolis Valley the RCMP also had access to this system for liaison with municipal forces.
In 2009 only the McLellans Mtn and DND repeaters remain listed and are licenced to local municipalities rather than the province.
